Lots of people living in my home which makes it loud, active and chaotic, since this includes 10 kids- but it also makes us family. Where to put everyone, how to feed them all, how to keep them busy (no tv babysitting-no no no). We all share in the chores (kids included), the cooking and the playing. We usually do traditional Thanksgiving items- turkey, pie, potatoes, dressing, gravy rolls.. and cranberry sauce... we just do with what we have and share what we have extra of... isn't that what everyone does??

Sounds like lots of fun Barb! That's exactly how it should be :)
DeleteI LOVE the food and especially the left over turkey for turkey sandwiches. This year it's going to be just the four of us though since we moved away from all our family. It will still be a great thanksgiving though.
ReplyDeleteIf you have great food and great people you'll have a great time, that's what I always say. Good luck Tracie :)
Deletei love thankgiving because of my family, we have a big family and we gather for left overs all the time, left overs are the best.. just having conversations and being able to spend that little extra time with family n friends..

Deletemy mom's ENTIRE family (cousins, extended, etc..) all come to my parents house for thanksgiving. we play football in the front yard, eat a potluck meal and sing hymns around the piano.. i love being able to see family members that i don't get to see very often, and even though we span the entire US- we are a close-knit group.. and its usually a good 80 people!! :)
ReplyDelete80 people! That's amazing! I wish we had a lot of relatives here. Most of them are in the old country,we're first generation(or is it second) here in the U.S.We're 10 all in all. :)
